People’s Participation for Sustainable Development (PPSI) is a youth led non-governmental organisation (NGO) founded in 2019, working to advance the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Zambia.
Our work is anchored on three core pillars: social justice, climate justice, and environmental justice. We are committed to empowering young people and women to drive inclusive and sustainable change within their communities.
PROJECTS
With support from the Pollination Project, PPSI implemented an online Graduate Trainee Programme aimed at building youth capacity in sustainable development.

Equipped young people with knowledge and practical skills
Strengthened youth leadership and engagement
PPSI implemented a community-driven initiative providing small grants to elderly women to start small businesses. Funding was mobilised through local community engagement and lobbying.

Supported income generation for elderly women
Promoted financial independence and dignity
Strengthened community-based support systems
In collaboration with Paint A Million Trees, PPSI has actively participated in tree planting programmes aimed at promoting environmental conservation and climate awareness.

Engaged youth in climate action activities
PPSI has conducted gender equality awareness initiatives, including webinars and radio programmes in partnership with Youth Green Public Welfare Alliance.
